OWNERS – MAINTENANCE REQUESTS
Ongoing maintenance and repairs are vital in maintaining your rental property and the relationship with your tenants. When a tenant moves into a property it is an expectation the property is cared for as if it were the tenant's own. Attending to maintenance in a timely manner is always appreciated by tenants and ensures they continue to look after the property well.
Here are our top three tips for handling maintenance requests:
1. Handling maintenance issues as soon as they arise or when reported at a routine inspection is imperative for maintaining happy tenants, helps to make sure minor issues do not turn into major ones and ensures your investment remains in good condition.
2. When trades are onsite attending to maintenance, it can be helpful to request to have everything checked over. Most trades are happy to check over other potentially problematic items while onsite which is more cost effective in the long run. This can be done under one call-out fee and can identify potential issues before they become expensive ones.
3. Visit your property if you live locally or request a Facetime! We invite you to attend routine and vacate inspections so that you can see your investment for yourself. No one quite knows your property like you do! Our Property Managers are happy to Facetime you through your property if you are interstate or unable to physically attend.
